Cork City FC Realizes Immediate Value Working with Worldpay

As one of nine member organizations in the League of Ireland’s First Division, the Cork City Football Club (FC) was one of the first professional clubs in Ireland and the first in Cork.

Founded in 1984, the team plays its home matches on the grounds of the approximately 7,500-capacity Turners Cross, the only stadium in the league that is seated and covered on all four sides.

Throughout its history, Cork City FC has experienced varied success, and the club enjoys a dedicated local, national and even international fan base.

New payments provider sought

According to Éanna Buckley, chief operating officer for Cork City FC, his organization decided to move from their previous payments provider and made the change to Worldpay.

Éanna identified the main problem areas Cork City FC faced with their former provider as the speed of the physical terminals – especially on match days – plus lack of support and clarity regarding billing.
