Wingo turns to Worldpay for global online paymentsConversion rates soar by 7% thanks to seamless online payments

1 November 2017 – Bogota — Wingo, Colombia’s newest low-cost carrier (LCC), has selected Worldpay as its exclusive online payments provider to support its rapid expansion plans.
Wingo sought a payments partner with global expertise in the airline industry to ensure the success of its launch into the Colombian market. With 25 years of experience in the airline industry supporting over 80 of the world’s biggest airlines, Worldpay were able to use their expertise to implement a full online payments solution in just four months.
The airline successfully made its service debut in December 2016, and is counting on Worldpay’s expertise in global payments to help inform its ambitious growth strategy. By working with a single provider, Wingo is able to avoid the complications and costs of working with multiple payments processors across different markets as expands; supporting its mission to offer affordable airfares in Colombia and further afield.
The partnership will enable Wingo to gain more insight into the purchasing habits of travellers, so the airline can better tailor its online services and create a seamless online booking experience. Since partnering with Worldpay, the airline has seen conversion rates increase by 7%, as an enhanced online customer journey for both domestic and international travellers helps increase ticket sales.
