Enabling Growth for National Capital Bank

Founded in 1889, National Capital Bank (NCB) is a full-service community bank and the oldest bank in the nation’s capital. At nearly $600 million in total assets, it has set its sights on reaching the $1 billion mark. With four branch locations, growth is achieved by introducing new products and services. NCB understood the core banking platform they had used for 12 years couldn’t deliver on their future goals. After careful consideration, NCB chose to modernize with FIS HORIZON core platform which was successfully implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NCB added a range of products and services features to meet its growth plans. The COVID-19 pandemic created uncertainty, but delaying was not an option. The NCB and FIS teams found alternative processes to pivot and stay on track. Virtual meetings and other tech-forward tools replaced in-person engagement. The result was a smooth, successful conversion completed on schedule.

Impact

FIS HORIZON core processor enabled NCB to drive growth in a challenging time and introduce new products and services including advanced e-banking and treasury management features, new payment options, better sales and relationship management, and broader MIS reporting options. NCB’s new and improved competitive positioning will drive a bright future for the bank and its customers.
