Heritage Bank (Jonesboro, Ga.) has served metro Atlanta’s Southern Crescent since 1955. After electing to ride out the economic downturn, and with the local economy now booming again, Heritage finds itself to be well-positioned to capitalize on the region’s population and investment growth. Heritage knew to meet the needs of its marketplace the time was right make the move to a new core processor – one that provided the flexibility and digital capabilities it required to help accelerate its ambitious growth plans. In 2019, Heritage Bank completed mergers with two Atlanta area community banks to form Heritage Southeast Bancorporation, Inc. The conversion to the new FIS HORIZON core empowered the bank to provide a seamless, fully integrated banking experience for customers. Expanded delivery channels including virtual tellers (Teller Live!) and extended business hours enable Heritage to stay competitive with larger regional and super regional banks.Impact
Upon completing the mergers of The Heritage Bank, Providence Bank and Heritage Southeast Bank, Heritage Southeast Bancorporation now offers competitive products and services with a local delivery system to support regional banking relationships. The mergers have resulted in significant asset growth from $500 million to approximately $1.3 billion today. The institution provides well-rounded offerings of commercial and consumer products, including personal and business banking services, investment and insurance services.
It's very difficult as a half a billion-dollar institution to handle all the compliance responsibilities and to compete with larger regional and national banks. We wanted to create something called the sustainable community bank that could withstand competitive pressure, deliver opportunities to our shareholders, provide products to our customers and be user-friendly to meet the needs of our employees."
With the help of FIS and the HORIZON core, Heritage Bank is on its way to delivering on its mission of being a sustainable community bank. The bank now delivers a seamless, fully integrated banking experience for customers, including improved security, new delivery channels and expanded business hours.
